This is neither a trick nor some cracking ideas, all I am going to show here is a step by step process that we are usually supposed to do. This is just a lesson on making a pen-drive bootable with a few recommended methods that are supposed to do using Rufus software.

To install any type of version of windows, you will need to have USB pen drive or Disc (DC/DVD). The minimum size of a disc or pen drive has to be 8GB free in space. It is easy to make a make a pen drive a bootable drive or easy to burn disc to make a disc bootable. Before make a disc or pen drive, you have to check your pc whether your pc is GPT UEFI partition of MBR partition. If you mistakenly make a pen drive bootable that supports only MBR, it cannot be install on the GPT partition drive. Because the bootable drive supports according to the commanding partition type. And to make any disc or pen drive bootable you will need software which can help in making a device like pen drive bootable. To make bootable windows USB pen drive, you will need to software called “RUFUS”. You can download this software from the Rufus’s official website if you do not have already.

-To check which type of partition your PC is press windows key+R and in the search box type msinfo32 and it will take you to the system information setting and in the setting you will see a BIOS setting or BIOS Mode. You can see here which Partition my PC is, my PC partition set up is UEFI which in other term is GPT (GUID Partition Table).

-You can check your PC’s Partition setting in other way too. You can right click on the start Windows Logo on the bottom; it will show like this and click on Disk Management. You can see here, there are many option and setting showing in here but you have to click on the Disk Management only.

-To check your PC’s Partition setting, just right click on the C: Drive shown on the left side bar. After that again clicks on property and go to volume where you can check your PC’s partition setting. It is clearly showing that my partition setting type is GUID Partition Table (GPT) or UEFI. In this way you can check your PC’s Partition settings set up.

-You have to check carefully which one is your PC’s partition. It will show UEFI or GPT or MRB. You can start a next step if you have already found out your PC’s partition type setting.

-To make bootable windows USB pen drive, you will need to software called “RUFUS”.You can download this software from the Rufus’s official website if you do not have already. If you have downloaded already you are go to go. Go to the folder where you keep the downloaded software.

-Then right click on the software and run as administrator, it will pop in black colour asking you to click yes and No. You have to click on Yes to properly run the software to make a pen drive bootable device.

Next all setting of Rufus will begin to show, from that setting you have to choose according to the partition type-setting of your PC. If you have forgotten already go to the top again and check accordingly shown in this chapter. If you have not inserted your pen drive yet, insert the pen drive and choose according to the steps shown in the pictures.

-Second select the disk or iOS image file of any windows from the folder and select windows and click on open.

-Thirdly, choose partition scheme GPT or MBR

-Fourthly, you don’t have to do anything more with the setting just click on start. It will start formatting before installing windows into your pen-drive to make a bootable one. After the formatting is completed it will again start installing the windows on the pen-drive.

-Lastly, after the installation is completed, close the software and you are done and good to start new windows installation on your PC.

It is very easy to make a pen-drive a bootable USB device with just few steps and clicks. I have shown you everything step by step and you have to follow the step according to the process shown in this chapter.
